Second Skin reinterprets the Gobi through Isaac Sellam’s distinctive approach to leather. The jacket is reconstructed in lightweight leather, treated through a process developed by Sellam to make it both waterproof and breathable. Exposed metal staples and signature assembly techniques define the construction, while individual dyeing and finishing give the piece its unique character, preserving the Gobi’s DNA within Sellam’s creative language.
Isaac Sellam ( @isaacsellam ) is a Paris-based designer known for his experimental approach to leather. For more than twenty years, he has developed his own construction, treatment and assembly techniques, continuously pushing the boundaries of the material. His work combines raw yet precise constructions, exposed metal staples and exclusive treatments, exploring lightness, movement and functionality at the intersection of craftsmanship, experimentation and design.
