“Anchoring” is the concept from which the project takes shape. The vertical fabric walls become rocky surfaces, walls to be climbed. Covered in buttons, the Gobi transforms into an object that holds interchangeable geological fragments and technical elements inspired by mountaineering and the mountains, created using simple hardware components.
The true inspiration, however, remains humankind: forever confronting nature and challenging itself in search of deeper meaning, far from the noise of our time.
Cosma Frascina (b. 1989, Grottaglie, Italy) ( @cosmafrascina ) develops a practice rooted in the artisanal traditions and natural resources of his native Salento, exploring the boundaries between art and collectible design. Working with materials such as calcarenite stone, marble and concrete, he investigates the relationship between human intervention, landscape and time. Through a slow, physical process of sculpting, carving and sanding, his works remain open to transformation, erosion and the continuous passage of time.
