In Parajumpers’ latest campaign the brand travels to Norway to find icy serenity.
A village in northern Norway, up towards the Arctic Circle, is where we meet our protagonists. Away from the rest of the world, from the hustle and bustle of the city streets, all is calm. Here, you can hear only the crunch of your feet on snow, the breeze through the trees and your own breath, forming plumes of condensation in front of you.
It is a place of balance, where humans and nature interact in perfect equilibrium, a symbiotic relationship of equals rather than an opposing force. The clothes of this edit are part of this dialogue; a selection of pieces whose functionality and craftsmanship allow them communion with the natural world.
We find this in the cashmere and wool brushed fleece of our Pia jacket, as well as the wool-blend sherpa fleece and cotton poplin of our Hidden Wind series. Every element of these pieces takes its inspiration from the environment, whether that’s their emphasis on natural fibres, their duck down fills or their muted, earthy colour palettes.
The materials of our Special Editions series further our understanding of the give-and-take between the wilderness and the people who co-exist within it. Vegetable-tanned nappa sheepskin is combined with lamb shearling for a jacket that’s fearlessly resilient yet exquisitely soft.
Shearling also adds a touch of delicacy to the high-performance construction of the Gobi S jacket, part of our Masterpiece series. Its saturated tones recall the vibrant cadences of our Polar Puffers series, as well as the heritage-led tartan print that typifies our Young and Amak jackets.
On the other end of the spectrum, we have our Warm Up series, its plush, sculptural silhouette rendered in icy blues and greens.
In this discourse with nature, Parajumpers seeks to show a way of living with the elements – an ancient yet ever ongoing project.
