A Timeless Piece

There’s no doubt, we’re talking about the Trench.
Perhaps not everybody knows that its name derives from the English expression “trench coat”, that is a coat to wear in trenches. It was realized for the first time in 1901 at the istance of the British War Minister: it was supposed to be a model inbetween a regulation greatcoat and a military cape, that would protect from the adverse weather conditions and that could be worn over a blazer or a padded gilet.
It then became popular just after the Great War, with the proper adjustments. Later it was
officially consecrated by actors such as Humprey Bogart and Peter Sellers, also becoming the uniform of detectives on tv and in the cinema, always with the collar lifted up. In the feminine version, on the other hand, among the “testimonials” we find Audrey Hepburn, which made it famous in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, but earlier in time there were Marlene Dietrich and Great Garbo, and more recently Alexa Chung, Victoria Beckham, Olivia Palermo.
It’s precisely the feminine version that Parajumpers happen to have created, realized in a memory-effect kind of Polyester with a water-resistant treatment: it’s a tough fabric , but at the same time it wraps the shapes of the body without weightening the figure, proving to be versatile and an evergreen, a real timeless piece.
